Winning
isn't the only thing
When
I read this article at first I was upset because it brought me back to that
play and that call that the referees had obviously messed up. When reading it
the whole time I was thinking where is he going with this because to me it
seems like winning is everything. I play college baseball here at Stevens Point
and we had a scrimmage at practice between our teams and even when you don't
win those games your down and out of it because I want to win so bad!! So this
article really made me think especially talking about Russell Wilson and Pete
Carroll how they acted like nothing should have been different and that the
refs made the right made me think wow, is it worth winning if you have to win
in this way. If I were in that situation what would I do, If I were to think I
would hope that I would be the guy that could honestly say we lost that game
and they deserve that win. I just think
that this article really hits people where it hurts when you think of the
people that have cheated their way to the top and have barely worked their way
and then you have someone else who works there butt off and doesn't get the job
or the spot on the team because someone else cheated their way to get it. I
agree with Mariniss because winning isn't everything being honest and sticking to what you believe
in is. If you were on national T.V. what do you think your family would want
you to say? The truth or the lie and sound like a complete idiot on national
T.V.
In
Agreement with Mariniss I think winning is a huge deal but if there is
something that you have to do to get it that involves cheating or doing
something illegal I don't think it is
worth it and I think the true winner is who gave there all and still could have
lost i
Your right. What is the point of winning a game if you don't deserve it? Isn't the point of winning to show your better?
ReplyDeleteI found it really interesting to hear a response to this article from someone who is really into sports. I am about the farthest thing from a sports finatic so when I see people get so upset over a game I think to myself, "holy crap, guys chill out it's just a game." But hearing it from your perspective when you're in the baseball game you really do want to win very badly. I can say that I do have a little bit better understanding now of why people get so emotional over a game.
ReplyDeleteI liked that you explained that you play college ball because it showed that you have a little bit more knowledge about the subject then someone off the street. I also liked how you brought family values into this.
